7th: Vocab words assignment

A place to put vocab words.

The dismal day was ravenouselly dripping wet upon the back of my neck. My old canvas army jacket was grimly holding onto all moisture that would fatefully fall upon it. As I walked the street, the avenger of those less fortunate than I, a horde from the fens here in Ireland came to cause depredation to me and my followers. One of my followers, an uncanny old man from the Amazon, took out a pistol to bestow one of the horde to oblivion. The fools ran from us and we lengthened our stride to make it to the sunset grove.

I love your writing when you get on a descriptive roll, Shane. One spelling rule issue: when you add the suffix -ly to a word that does not end in -y, don't change the base word (ravenously). It's a common mistake.
"Bestow" is off a bit in connotation here, too; it should mean something more like the action of giving a gracious gift. Don't you love the word "depredation"?
